Happy New Year!

That's right, you read correctly. In Two Itchy Feet world, the new year starts on the 1st of February.

Basically, January was such an out-of-the-ordinary month for me, with our trip to France, the house-move and taking on this humongous project, that it felt like it passed in a blur and I never got a chance to find a rythm or routine.

Now that it's February, I'm ready to roll, to work harder, run faster and generally kick some serious bootey!

To start the 'year' of properly, I went on a six-miler. The first three miles out felt good and strong, but by now I get the drill: the wind in my back has that effect on me. On the way back, however, I didn't lose too much of my stride and vowed to keep running strong.

Well, by the time I got back, I'd realized that I'd run my first ever sub-55-min. 6-miler. EVER. Now, if that ain't the right way to kick of the year, then what is?

I kid you not, I think that's a first. Told ya I'm a slow-plodder...

How about running a sub-55-min. 6-miler followed by 30 minutes of kicka$$ Nike Training Club and 15 minutes of yoga-stretch-out time. That's what!

Happy 2013. I'm finally ready for it!

How did your first month of 2013 go? Did you stick your resolutions/goals/plans? How are you holding up?

January was pretty good to me! Turned 29, slowly gaining my fitness back (knock on wood!), and the days are getting brighter!
