Quick update from the snowy slopes of the French Alps. We decided to sneak in a cheeky weekend getaway for a last play-fix in the snow before the season is over. Just can't do without.
This is where G and I met, where we connected over our common LOVE of all things mountain, as cheesy as it sounds, and as much as we love living by the sea, it always pulls us back here.
It's been raining all day today, so hopefully that means snow up high so we're gonna head up first thing, hopefully finding a good spot of fresh powder or three...
... on my brand new board. YESSS!!!! I've lusted after this puppy for years and years and years and after trashing my Troop to bits over the last eight seasons, it was time for an upgrade (well, it takes time to save your pennies).
On that note, I'm getting an early night. Here's to a pain-free weekend of running, boarding, skiing or whatever y'all get up to.
A special shout-out to my bestest running buddy Anna and all the other Betties and Alan running the Cambridge half marathon on Sunday! You're gonna kill it (wish I was with you).
Do you ski or board?
How's your marathon training going? I'm hoping I'll be back running as soon as we get back as I've now had two almost completely pain-free days. Fingers xed.
Have FUN!!
ReplyDeleteI've never skiied or went snowboarding in my liiife. I've only done snow-shoeing. lol!
WHAT??? I thought all Canadians are born with skis on their feet? Or was that skates?! ;) Give it a try sometime, it's so fun!!!!
DeleteAwww thanks hun! It went well but I really missed you!! Loads of Betties were running it but I didn't end up actually running with any of them - you and I are the perfect pace match.. GER re-run??? Hope you had fun boarding xx
