This last week, I've taken a step back from a lot of social media. Friday's post was scheduled, I've kept away from Twitter (sometimes my newsfeed is just a bit too much to take in), maybe checked on my Facebook once a day and posted to Instagram only when I saw something actually worth sharing. Like this.
The main reason for my mini-hiatus, other than the ongoing chaos and disruption caused by the house and impending work-deadlines, was to spend some time with real-life friends. First, I had my old housemate from my early Cambridge days come for a visit and then G and I went back to our old stomping grounds for a wedding and some catch-up time with our friends there.
I still managed to get in plenty of workout time and even went to my very first Zumba class (more about that later). But I allowed myself four full rest days, for which my body seemed incredibly grateful.
For now, I'm playing a bit of catch up work-wise, house-wise, life-wise and, of course, blog-wise. But I'll be back before too long with lots of stuff to tell you about all the fun bits coming up, so stay tuned.
Do you ever just take a step back from social media? I'm glad I did, not that I was gone for long or had a complete blackout, but sometimes it's nice to interact with no one but real, touchable people, don't you think?
